Germany settled in.
Siloah is a picturesque campground and farm nestled in the rolling hills of Thuringia, in what was once East Germany. Surrounded by quaint villages, historic churches, and centuries-old farmhouses, this region is rich in history but spiritually in need—after decades of communist rule, only a small Christian presence remains. Yet, the faithful here are full of hope, believing God for revival.
We arrived on Monday afternoon after a long journey that included multiple flights, unexpected delays, and a four-hour bus ride. Despite the travel fatigue, we received a warm German welcome from the camp staff—with Kuchen und Kaffee (cake and coffee), of course!
Our team is staying in a converted carpentry shop, where we've set up tents for the next few weeks. It's rustic, but cozy—and already feels like home.
The next day, we jumped into our main project: repainting a three-story farmhouse on the property that functions as a cafeteria, dormitory, and meeting space. We’ve started by scraping and patching the weathered exterior to prepare it for fresh coats of paint.
In the evenings, we've been getting to know the Siloah student volunteers. On our second night, they introduced us to Jugger—a fast-paced German battle game using foam weapons. It was a blast and a great team-building experience!
The whole team is healthy, in good spirits, and embracing the culture and mission with joy. Thank you for your continued prayers and support—we’re excited to see what God will do in and through us in the days ahead.
