Hello from Germany!
Even in the rain and cold, the team continues to press forward in our work project and has almost fully completed the first planned area of our painting project. The team has worked well that we have decided to expand our project area and continue to the next parts of the building. On top of the painting project, we have also had the opportunity to help set up for the kinder camp that will begin on the 10th of July. The team is very excited for the kids to start arriving and cannot wait to assist the Siloah staff and volunteers in ministering to the kids.
On Tuesday, we were able to take a short break from work and explore Germany. We began our day with a hike through “the dragon’s ravine”, a beautiful forest trek with luscious green canyons to explore. We then had the opportunity to hike to the castle of Wartburg, the castle where Martin Luther translated the Bible to German. Finally, we were able to walk to the German town of Eisenach, (the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach) and shop and eat at local German businesses. In total, we had walked 10 or more miles, but the team still had energy to ask if we could play Juggar.
The volunteers and staff at Siloah have continued to bless us immensely throughout our stay at Siloah. On Tuesday, a few volunteers acted as our guides and were able to tell us the historical and cultural significance of the sites we were visiting. On Wednesday night, the staff made us a German meal known as goulash. German goulash consists of beef stew, potato knödel, and red cabbage.
We continue to thank God for His blessings every day in Germany! Thank you for all of your support and for your prayers! We cannot wait to see what God has for us next.
