Greetings from LDT in Mexico!
Around the property, various projects have been underway. One of the major ones has been repairing the slough, along with addressing several of the other training obstacles. The team has worked hard and shown great teamwork throughout these efforts.
We’ve had a blast leading the teams in fun Boot Camp songs, complete with motions! It’s been encouraging to see everyone get involved and enjoy learning new songs.
Special Visit & Encouragement
On Friday, we were blessed to have a visit from a local missionary family. Marco, Jenny, Rebecca, and Natalie. They live nearby and had seen on the reports posted to Facebook that we were close. Jenny and Rebecca had both been on teams in the past, which made their visit even more meaningful. They brought cookies and ice cream (a big hit!) and shared their story with us. It was a great encouragement to hear how God has been at work in their lives and ministry.
Evening Rallies & Worship
The evening rallies have been a highlight for many, filled with music, dancing, and powerful messages. On Saturday night, Mr. Josh spoke on the story of the rich young ruler, challenging everyone to let go of the weights that may be holding them back from fully following Christ. Many teens came forward to pray in response, an amazing moment of surrender and growth.
Peyton and Cory also had the opportunity to share their testimonies about how God has worked in their lives and brought them to Teen Missions. It’s been inspiring to see how God is using each person’s story.
Sunday Sunrise Worship
Sunday morning was a special time as the entire Boot Camp hiked up a nearby hillside. As the sun rose over the mountains, we led hymns together and heard a message from Mr. Seth. It was a beautiful and peaceful time to reflect on God’s goodness and prepare our hearts for the week ahead.
Weather & Team Life
The weather has been beautiful, warm days and cool nights (perfect for sleeping!) with afternoon thunderstorms that bring a refreshing break from the sun.
Our motto this summer has been “Open Hearts and Open Hands.” With things changing quickly, we’ve learned to be flexible and ready whenever we’re needed. The leaders have been intentional about bringing the team into the process of leadership, including a discussion on how to write reports like this one. Everyone contributed ideas on what should be included, making this report a true team effort.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We’re grateful for what God is doing here in Mexico and excited for what’s still to come!
With joy,
The Mexico LDT Team
