United in Christ: From Boot Camp to Ministry in Ciudad Valley
Our team continued to teach the drama classes and fill in when needed for other tasks. Friday morning the team got to run the obstacle course with all the other leaders. It was a highlight of their day. It was so cool to see everyone working together even with the language barrier. It was a great picture of the body of Christ and how we are all part of the same family in Christ.
Friday evening was the commissioning service. What a blessing to see the teams light their candles and get ready to go out throughout Mexico. It was sad goodbyes Friday night and Saturday morning. We headed out on Saturday to Ciudad Valley It was about an eight hour drive. When we arrived we jumped right in to their youth group. We learned “Lord I Lift Your Name on High” with them so that we could sing it together on sunday morning. This next week we will be staying in a church that has graciously hosted our team. We will be working on helping to build another church building about 45 min from where we are staying.
Sunday we were able to participate in the Sunday school of the church where we were staying. After the Sunday school we sang the song we learned with the youth of the church. We were also able to share another song, a drama, and Micah and Lily shared a short testimony. After our presentation we went to another nearby church to share the songs, drama, and testimonies again. Sunday evening we were able to share about the Boot Camp. Many of the kids at the Mexico Boot Camp came from the churches here. We shared some more songs and answered questions.
It is very hot and humid here.
We are excited for the week ahead for the ministry and work we will do!
