Hola Amigos y Familia!

Two days left in Bolivia! Just as the season is changing for us now as we begin to pack up today, strong winds blew all night delivering cool temperatures. Grant R. found exactly one fleece jacket to buy at the beginning of our mission here and he’s pretty glad to have it again after 2 weeks of hot weather. The wind ought to help our last laundry loads to dry today- trying not to pack out sweaty, grimy clothes…but…parents, prepare your washing machines now because this will be what your machine was made for! Ha! That being said, they’ll have access to machines at debrief and air conditioned dorm rooms! Also, possibly cold Frappuccino drinks!

God has really been showing out here! Asha C. led evening devotions last night and shared that before coming on this trip, she really struggled to pray out loud. She would get very nervous if someone would ask her to pray. She didn’t really even see the importance- like it seemed that she might as well be talking to the air because no voice answered her back. However, Asha C. articulated that, “It’s like something was unlocked for me on this trip and God is showing me how special it is that I get to talk to my God in an intimate way. It’s really a gift and He loves us so much and He hears all our prayers. I see the team praying not just for meals, but before we do EV, before we go on a walk, for others who need prayer…all the time and it’s just so natural!” And she volunteers to pray with our team now…hallelujah! Alex G. led devo with passionate conviction- none of us would be surprised if the Lord called him into full-time ministry. Lizzy S. expressed an honest lesson she’s learned about being who God made her to be, not like others. Lito S. added an incredible poem he personally wrote about praising God to his devo. Lucas H. included “Come Thou Fount” to his devotion focused on wisdom. Paul S. led us in an acapella Doxology. Dawson M., in wisdom beyond his years, shared about how trials will come, but like Job, we need to continue to praise God through the hard times. The remaining team members will lead tonight and tomorrow.

For us, the worksite finished up with much concrete laid and pillars erect. The team worked incredibly hard. That intensity on the worksite was the standard for Team Bolivia. Has TMI had a better team in the past 45 years? We’ve joked this way! To God be the glory. We hope to see pictures someday soon of little kids learning Bible events in the soon-to-be-classrooms we’ve started. A church kitchen bustling with folks in the community walking up to be fed the Word and empanadas after a service. Motorcycle taxis revving by to drop off the congregation for worship service. All of these ministries will occur because 15 teenagers gave up their summer of American pleasures to literally lay the foundation of church classrooms in a far away county. …and Jesus promises us that the sower and the reaper will meet in heaven someday. What a glorious day that will be! Better than Bolivian empanadas!

I have had a great time in Bolivia with worksite presentations and shopping. Even though I have had a good time it is going to feel good to be back home in the United States. - Malachi A.

Bolivia has been awesome! Our time at the worksite is over but we got a lot of stuff done. The culture is amazing and the taxi rides are always fun. Overall this trip has been an incredible experience. - Dawson M.

Hey guys! Bolivia has been so much fun. Can’t wait to see you guys! Love- Simeon M.

Bolivia has been a blast. My favorite part of the trip has been the markets. In about an hour at the market I ate 3 popsicles. They were delicious. Things at the worksite have been going good. The last thing we did was pour concrete to make posts. Then to make the last day of work more exciting, we danced with some Bible students. We can’t wait to see yall at debrief. - Lucus H.

Howdy y’all, this message is being brought to you by Josiah. As we are wrapping up our time here, I have taken some minutos to look back at our stay in Bolivia. The people have been incredibly generous and were a huge blessing to us wherever we have gone. As we have spent more and more time with the locals, I have become just shy of fluent in Español and have played a pivotal role as a translator on the worksite. It has also been a wonderful experience watching the team grow closer together and closer to the Lord the past several weeks. I have seen the Lord work wonders in every single member of this team. I have been so grateful that I have been put on such a wonderful team. I want to finish this by dedicating this report to Willy Nelson and Poppy who I have yet to meet. And if you don’t hear from me again, buenos dias, buenos tardes, buenos noches. - Mr. Josiah Wilkins

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brother or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields - along with persecutions- and in the age to come eternal life.” I have not failed to receive 100 times as much this summer. The way this team supports, loves, teases, and laughs reminds me of nothing less than a family. God is faithful to His promises- He even provided a field across from our worksite and at our base to play soccer! My heart is full as I see all that these young men and women of Christ have built at our project and all that the Holy Spirit is building inside of them. I see wisdom being gathered, faith being exercised and stretched, and love being poured out. - Mr. Jamey Slater
