Mucho progress in Bolivia!

Stamina. That’s what the Lord has provided and what we still need from Him. There has been an abundance of concrete to be mixed and poured into the deep holes we dug last week. Pillars of rebar are cemented into each hole along with a rock base. There are jobs for the strongest of our guys, such as lifting the buckets of sand, rock, and gravel up into the concrete mixer we have on site. Buckets-full of each substrate must be carried from its respective pile to the mixer and that can be done with one or two people, depending on their strength. Then after the concrete is sufficiently mixed, team members cart wheelbarrows-full to dump into each hole. Our guys lifted buckets until their arms gave out…again I have to say that surely no team works harder than Team Bolivia.

Their morale is extraordinary too- they joke and act like family and are truly making the most of their time here. They’ve discovered a soda that is popular- Guarana- and many have bought in in free time, yet of course, Coke remains a favorite. A few on KP (kitchen patrol) have been treated to street vendor’s popsicles (Coco, Vanilla, Papaya, Tamarind, Frutilla) as we explore the area on foot. Each day, the KP gets to choose a dessert to make. Boy, I’m telling you we’ve been treated! Asha C. and Alex G. made a beautiful apple crisp, Jack N. and Lizzy S. are making chocolate chip cookies, Simeon M. and Malachi A. made an Oreo pudding creation, Garrick B. and Jake W. made banana pudding, and Lito S. and Lucus H. made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

We have been growing in our own walks with the Lord through daily devo/quiet time in the morning. We sip hot tea as breakfast is finishing up. During the lunch hour on the worksite, Mr. Robbie or Mr. Josiah leads the team in a Bible study. Guys and ladies separate for a 45 min evening devotion time and then the nights conclude with group devotions. Next week all team members will take a turn leading this.

Tomorrow (Friday) we will travel to Santa Cruz to go to a Nature Preserve and water-fun place. We are going to enjoy this day somewhat earlier because the weather turned warm (~80’s). We can’t wait!

We have a very packed EV schedule for the weekend. Saturday evening we’ll go to a church to minister to adults and teens in one group and kids in another group. On Sunday, we have THREE separate EV opportunities spaced throughout the day and in the first two events, we’ll be separating into groups.
Please pray for us to keep up ENERGY and JOY as we pour out to the adults, teens, and kids here!
Pray as we head into the final work week too!

Greetings from Bolivia! We have been diligently working on building the classrooms, and meeting new people. We recently got to evangelize over the weekend, which was an amazing blessing. We are also really blessed to be making friends with the concrete mixer, so we don’t have to mix the concrete by hand. Thanks for all your prayers! -Garrick B.

Hola from Bolivia. The work here has been tough but good. God has been working a lot through me and the culture here is gorgeous. Adios - Asha C.

We got to evangelize to kids and other adults Saturday and Sunday. We also had good food as well. - Jake W.

This week we were working by digging. We’ve done some cool things like play soccer, football, and we raced. We have really good food. - Matthew F.

This week we did a lot of digging and concrete. Also, the food is incredibly cheap, so we have been stocking up on snacks. Love y'all and miss yall. - Grant R.

This week we went to the market and got ice cream. We have worked with concrete and digging 5ft. holes. -Alex G.
