Hola, from Peru!

We are a few days into our time here at Refugio de Esperanza. It’s been a joy and a juggling act blending our schedule with the school here. Seeing and hearing all the kids, along with our team members, interact and communicate (as best as they can) is truly a beautiful thing to witness. We praise the Lord for continued health on our team and ask for prayer that it would continue. We are still all trying to catch up on sleep from traveling, but that hasn’t stopped the team from working hard. The roof project over the boys’ dorm is moving right along. There have been some plumbing projects taken care of, though not without some delays, but praise the Lord, the water has been restored just when we need it. The team has also had opportunities to play with the kids during recess and join them for classroom activities. Please pray as the team continues to practice their team presentations, where they sing two songs in Spanish. The Lord is working in many ways here in Peru, and we pray that we will continue to follow His leading and call, especially in evangelism opportunities. Thank you for praying for us, and please know we are praying for all of you too!

Melissa H - Hi everyone! I’m missing you all. Peru’s super cool. They have a lot of these super cool 3-wheeled motorkart things driving around. There are lots of cats and dogs and butterflies here on the property with us. We are working on digging pipes out of the ground to replace them and also working with all the kids, which is really fun. I hope my sisters have cleaned our room. I feel like I’ve been talking to God a lot more so that’s good. Mom, I miss your food but I like Miss Kelly and Miss Lupe’s food a lot too. Goodbye. I’m staying in Peru. Love you!

Andre P- Hi family! Got to Peru. One thing I’m noticing is how spoiled I am. When I get home I’m gonna kiss my washer and dryer. And also my shower. And also my bed. Right now we’re doing a good job demoing and constructing a roof for a boys dorm. There’s also a little shop that sells two sodas for one US dollar, which is an insane deal. I’m working on my Spanish to talk to the kids and I’m teaching them my little air walk dance that I know how to do. God is teaching me a lot about humility and gratitude these past two weeks. Love you guys! Miss you!!!
