Italy team settles onto the mountain and prepares for an uphill battle!!

Since our last report we safely arrived in Italy and have been setting up. Our travel went very smoothly with no issues or delays and we were thankful to receive all of our bags! We were so thankful to be received by our missionaries here in Italy and we were greeted with some delicious Italian pizza and we were just so thankful to see them. Since arriving, we’ve gotten settled in and set up our tent site and worked on some laundry and bathing in some ice cold Italian water. The team also has been helping with many different projects to prepare for the upcoming Boot Camp. Today they worked on painting books of the Bible, constructing some shower stalls and also lots of odds and ends of organizing and getting ready. The team has really been enjoying the base and all of the beautiful views. We can see the mountains for miles and we have an amazing sunrise and sunset to see each day. We’ve been thankful to work alongside our Colombian and Italian missionaries and getting to know them better each day, they’ve been such a blessing to us! We have a few days until the leaders arrive for seminar, so we’re working hard to finish up all the projects assigned to us so we can be ready. Starting in the next day or so we are going to tackle setting up the obstacle course which we’re really looking forward to! Last night, the kids had the privilege to hear from our missionaries about the vision for the boot camp and this base and it was so exciting to hear their story and how God has been working in Italy. We ask that you be praying for us and for the work here. Our missionary shared with us that there is only one church nearby for miles and miles. We’re excited for the opportunities that we have ahead of us to work alongside these Italian teenagers but also to have opportunities to go into the local communities and share the love of Christ. Please continue praying for safety and good health as the sun here can be very hot so we want to be intentional to stay hydrated. The team is doing well overall and we thank you for your prayers and for the ways you are continuing to support us. Italy has been really beautiful, the weather is amazing and it’s really nice not being drenched in sweat before 7 AM. -Jack W

Italy has been super cool so far. Today I got to help organize the kitchen and spend time with some of the missionaries. The sunset was super pretty tonight also. -Allison Y
