It’s Been a Peru-tty Great Summer So Far…

Things have been busy here in Pucallpa. The Peru team has been doing lots here on the Refugio de Esperanza property. We finished clearing out the old building and knocked it completely down. Now we’re left with a big foundation with tile dance floor type thing outside that the Peruvian kids love to play on. We’ve also been putting our carpentry skills to work around the property. The team has built new platforms for trash cans, new benches, and is currently working on a new fence. We also officially finished the roof on the boys’ bathroom! That roof was completely torn apart and rebuilt by us, so seeing it finished was pretty cool. Today we performed two different presentations. One for the little kids which consisted only of puppets and dancing. And another slightly more mature one for the high schoolers without puppets. Lots of dramas but no llamas(Peruvian thing) yet. Basically we’re knocking down the language barrier completely down like an old building. Everyone is getting more comfortable with the kids by either improving their Spanish or improving their charades skills. Both are fun. There are also a lot of (clean pet) dogs on the property that the team has sort of adopted despite the language barrier which is truly inspiring. Continue to pray for us and for us to grow closer to each other and Jesus and that we would touch so many hearts in Peru!

Coraline Y - Hi family! Things are going really well here in Peru! The work is going really fast; we’ve already put on an entire roof and demolished a building. Miss Samara and Mr John are teaching me how to juggle, which is fun, and I’ve had a lot of fun opportunities to spend time with the kids. They like taking pictures on my camera and we play games, too. I was on kitchen duty yesterday with Silas, and that was a lot of fun as well. We’ve gotten to do our presentations a few times so far, which has been fun. I get a pretty main role in one of the dramas, and I would like to say I’m improving in my acting skills. The food is delicious and plentiful thanks to Miss Kelly and Miss Lupe, and even though I’m missing all of you guys I’m having really good time! Love you!

Ezra D Hi I hope you can have fun without me. Around Peru is beautiful and has lots of humidity but it is not hot so everything is just wet we are actually at a decent elevation I know that Lima was at 4000 feet.

Ella B - Hi guys love you all so much we are doing great here so glad to be seeing all the ways god is working in me and in others on my team can’t wait to tell fun story’s when I get back.

Caedie C Having fun watching the Peruvians beat me at jump-rope again. So many cool and funny things have happened, can’t wait to tell you all about it. God has done many amazing things this trip, and I hope for the next couple weeks it’ll be just if not more fulfilling.
