Malawi Sees the Sights

Greetings from the joyful but exhausted Malawi Team! The past few days have been such a joy since we had the opportunity to sight see! On Thursday (7/23) the team started our adventures with a very rough truck ride through a small safari park. Although we all might be a bit bruised from the bumps it was a bonding time we will all remember for a long time! During the safari we had the opportunity to see Zebras and Wildebeest’s up close!! We were all amazed by their beauty. After stopping for a few souvenirs we continued our journey until we arrived at our lunch destination in Senga Bay. Here we had a large buffet of rice, Sema, goat, fish and salad! The lady leaders were very grateful to have a break from cooking as well. After finishing lunch we made our way back to the Chipoka base. Our sightseeing didn’t conclude there though! On Friday 7/24 the team woke up at 4:30am to begin their journey to Lake Malawi National Park. We arrived around 11am where we transferred to a boat that took us to an island where the whole team was able to snorkel!! The water was crystal clear and the fish vibrant in color! It was such a neat experience. After this we all got into the boats again and our guides fed the fishing Eagles and showed us their insane wing length! After this we made our way make to shore where we changed and had another amazing meal prepared by the locals. Then we continued our journey to Liwonde National Park. There we stayed in a lodge with the comfiest beds and hot showers! The next morning (7/25) we rose early again to do another larger safari! The team was able to see water bucks, elephants, warthogs, Kudos, Impalas and an array of birds! It was such a fun experience! We returned to the lodge for breakfast then went out again to the lake for a water safari! The team was able to see crocodiles and lots and lots of hippos! After the water safari we made our long journey back to our beloved Chipoka base! Today we attended Abundant Life Assembly church where Mr Evan gave a sermon for the people and the team was able to sing both of the songs they know in Chichewa! After church we d drove back to Senga Bay for a wonderful meal by Lake Malawi! These past few days have been full of beautiful sights, amazing people and food! We are all SO grateful for the war had to see so much of Malawi and its culture! Praise the Lord with us as our team is fully recovered from sickness!! Please pray as we spend our last four days here on base and travel on Friday!

Hey Guys, Malawi is amazing! We had so much fun in our sightseeing days. We were able to have a very nice buffet at the beach, go snorkeling and do two safaris. Now we’re back at the Chipoka base and we are helping out with the boot camp here for the next two days. Some of us will be judges on the OC while others will hang out and get to know some of the teams. God has been teaching me so much since I’ve been here and I can’t wait to tell everyone about it. Love you all! - Aliyah S.

I’ve been learning the power of prayer! God is showing me so much! I’ve got to see this creation and life here in Africa it’s amazing! - Cody C.

Malawi has been amazing. The people are so kind, the food is incredible and our clinics were a huge success. We spent the night in a wildlife park and went on a safari through Liwonde national park. We saw water bucks, elephants, antelope and so much more. Along with that, we’ve had lunch in Lake Malawi twice and went snorkeling as well in the massive lake. We go back to the lake on Wednesday and from there our trip will be wrapping up. See y'all soon. - Geoff S.
