Saludos amigos y familiares!

We are currently trekking 3.5hrs back to Monterey, Bolivia from an epic day of sharing the Gospel to a kids’ camp and again to a service for parents of those attendees. We spread out into the community to invite folks to attend the 2nd service. The team has really perfected the timing of the 2 dramas we perform. Every single team member is involved in the various songs, dramas, puppet shows, and we always lean on Alex G. to share his testimony through Spanish translators. Today, a rooster was competing with our volume as the team sang and a stray dog promptly marked his territory on Ms. Jen’s backpack. We trust that seeds were planted in this remote community as about 70 people participated in the services, including many teens. On the bus ride here, we spotted toucans, sloths, monkeys, and parrots in the trees!

On Saturday night, we traveled 30 min away to a church who welcomed us so warmly. The team presented their songs, skits, and dramas and then Mr. Jamey brought a message from Isaiah 1 in Spanish. Earlier in the day, Mr. Robbie led us in taking a day of rest. We slept in until 8:30am (2.5 hrs later than normal), eased into morning devos, exchanged money in the market, and shopped around for snacks and souvenirs. I think we’re all gaining our bearings as we learn what stores are in walking distance to us. I think we’ve all gotten 2 showers since arriving, one hot and 1 cold.

The children’s’ classroom is AHEAD OF SCHEDULE…in other words, these teenagers have worked so hard that the project is farther along than what the Bolivian pastor expected. In Mr. Robbie’s words, they are working like grown men and women. Boy do they have an appetite too! They’ve completed digging 11 giant pillar holes and now they’re working on making thousands of ties in the rebar that’ll go into the holes. They’re essentially creating webs of rebar to be laid down before concrete is poured. Pouring will be done by mixing by hand and those materials are lying in wait at the job-site.

Dear Mom and Dad,
Bolivia has been a great experience. I love the culture of Bolivia. This past weekend I got to evangelize with my team to kids and young adults. I also got to go to the market and buy stuff. I can’t wait to go home and tell you guys everything that happened in Bolivia. Love, - Lito S.

Hi everyone! I’m doing good! Bolivia has been great! It’s been awesome to see God working in our hearts. Love you all and miss you! - Lizzy S.

I haven’t gotten malaria yet, so all is good! We saw monkeys sloths, ostriches, and a bunch of different types of birds on the drive to a church 3 hours away. God is working through us! The kids love our performances. Miss you so much! - Jack N.

The work here is exhausting but rewarding. Evangelism is extremely fun. I am doing great except for not being that hungry- I only ate 3 pieces of chicken tonight. Verses are harder than I thought they’d be and I bought knives. Love, - Paul S.

Mucho progress in Bolivia!
