Team Malawi’s First Clinic!

Hey Y’all! Thank you for all of your prayers recently, we can see the Lord working here everyday! Since our last update we packed up all of our things to head out to the site of our first clinic. On Monday (07/06) we traveled to a ministry called “Restoring Hope Africa” a little outside of the town called Salima. Only about a 1.5-2 hour drive from the Chipoka Teen Missions base! We set up quickly when we arrived, ate some yummy beef tacos for lunch and then started our first day of clinic that afternoon! It was a little bit of a chaotic day as we were learning how to get into the swing of things but the team had fun and got help lots of people. Yesterday (07/07) we started our day with Bible study taught by our head leader Mr. Jahswel, breakfast and then got straight into the clinic which ran much smoother and the team felt very successful. The team members are getting to help treat minor wounds, sickness, provide reading glasses to those who need it and spend lots of time with the local village kids, playing with them and sharing Christ’s love with them! It is a blessing to see the Lord work through this clinic. After the clinic was over the team members got some much needed nice and cold showers and we ate some delicious beef pasta stew prepared by Miss Cory and the KP, Sam and Aliyah. After dinner we finished our day with Team time led by Miss Emma and girls and guys Bible studies led by Miss Lauren and Mr. Evan. Today (07/08) we are running another full day of the clinic and continuing with all of our other studies and activities. Tomorrow (07/09) is Jada P’s birthday, so we will be celebrating with a surprise of Pizza, cake and a yummy local mango drink! Tomorrow will also be our last day of our clinics here before we head bake to the Chipoka base on Friday! Here is a few ways you can be praying for our team this week… 1. Pray for energy for everyone as the take care and evangelize to the people that come into the clinic. And for the lady leaders and KP running the kitchen each day. 2. Pray for wisdom on how we can better care and minister to the people here. 3. Pray for an easy pack up and safe travels bake to the base on Friday. Thank you all for your prayers! May the Lord bless you and keep you all.

“Hey fam! Malawi has been an absolute wonderful adventure! The sunsets and sunrises are so beautiful! Church was one of my favorite experiences I had since being here. The worship was so beautiful. It is an a reminder to me that God is so sovereign. He is the same God everywhere around the world.” - Miss Lauren K.

“Hey friends and family!! Since being in Malawi the Lord has been teaching me a lot about my role as a leader, both on this team but also in my life at home. He’s been showing me that everything I do is to serve Him and be an example to the younger people around me. Whether it’s doing dishes, cooking or simply being with the team. I’m so excited to see how I continue to grow as a leader through these opportunities God has brought me!” - Miss Cory S

“Things are great here in Malawi! We’re making such a difference in the community through our eyeglass and medical services, which is so encouraging to me. It fills me with such joy to see faces light up when they put on glasses and suddenly everything is clear, or a cough that they’ve had for 20 years finally goes away. And the children are so full of energy and joy! They love getting shoulder rides, playing with my hair, and playing games like “coyote and goat”, “circle circle” and “do as I do”. Despite the language barrier we have loads of fun and their unique personalities shine in everything they do! I am just so in love with this country and the people here! The Lord is doing great things here in Malawi, and I can’t wait to see what He’s gonna do next!” - Emily S.

“Hey fam! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m having so much fun here in Malawi. This week we started our first clinic and so far I’ve done evangelism, played with the kids and worked at our medical station. It’s been so amazing to treat all kinds of different people, and have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them. I have loved to work alongside all my team members, and I have grown a lot spiritually. Today I had kitchen Patrol or KP for the first time and I made PB&Js and I helped make stew for dinner. Although it does make me miss cooking and baking at home, I can’t wait to tell everyone all about it and Andre I hope you are doing well in Peru!” - Jada P.
