MKZF is out and about!”

As I write this we are on our way back from one of our Florida sightseeing excursions! I know we planned to travel by airplane but today we tried a new form of transportation. We got to go about on an airboat today. Everyone seemed to love the breeze and the opportunity to see the lake from the middle of the lake. Our fishing boys hung on every word our guide said about the ecosystem of Lake Washington. We even got to see a manatee which everyone seemed to think was super cool!

We ended our excursion by visiting the food court at the mall. Our kids have been waiting for the opportunity to go and eat their weight in junk food since Boot Camp started and today they got to do it (within reason of course ;) ).

This week we also went and served at House of Hope.

This organization is an outreach of a local church to serve the homeless and those in need of a helping hand. Our group helped to organize food, pack benevolence boxes, and organize the “shop” where people can come and receive clothing for day-to-day life and also for job interviews. Our kids loved getting to serve the church that we watched livestream for our first Sunday on the field.

In terms of work projects, our kids still get so excited whenever we work with concrete. This past week they’ve finished up pouring a sidewalk on property. We also went around and shaped up the palm trees on property. They are counting down the days until the big concrete truck comes to pour!

We rotate who does the team evening devotions every night. It has been so special to hear each person share part of their story with the team and how the Lord has been at work in them and through them before and during the summer. I know they cannot wait to share stories from this summer with you all. Thank you for all the mail you have sent to encourage everyone! They love sharing pictures and goodies with each other!
