Ecuador Safe Arrival

The team, as well as our baggage, arrived safely to our destination after a smooth trip. The people here welcomed us with open arms and are as happy to see us as we are to see them. Yesterday we had a wonderful time getting to know our hosts as they took us to a local restaurant by the ocean to get a taste of the cuisine here. Afterwards, they took us on a walk down the beach and the kids had a wonderful time collecting interesting rocks and shells as well as just taking in the beautiful scenery. We got back and began to situate our things, a process that was completed this morning. After the sun went down, the team gathered together in worship as Mr. Mike led on the guitar. This was a great time for bonding together as well as growing closer to the Lord. This morning we began our daily routine with a good breakfast and devotions, then promptly set off to work. Their tasks include digging a trench and clearing weeds. Everyone appreciated the great weather as it was sunny and breezy without humidity. The first lunch was a great success, complete with chicken, vegetables, and soup. The upcoming opportunities to share the Gospel with the local people and getting to know our host missionaries is very exciting and makes all the work to get here worth it.
