For Such a Time as This
Hello from sunny, warm Florida. This is Mrs. Kim, one of the lady leaders sending this report. The Florida Dream team is doing well. We have 44 team members and seven leaders that have been chosen by God for something special this summer—just waiting to see what He has in store.
Team health is good.
It was difficult for the team members and leaders to say goodbye to their teams, but they are working hard to make new friends and to unite as a new team. The leadership is working to get all of their names learned and trying to make this a positive experience for everyone involved.
The last part of Esther 4:14 kept popping up in my head, "For such a time as this". I shared this with the team on Commissioning Night. Esther was chosen to save her people. The Dream Team has been chosen by God to serve Him this summer. It wasn't easy for Esther when she accepted the choice, and it hasn't been easy for the team, but we are all willing to be used by God.
Today the team worked on small projects around the Boot Camp for a couple of hours in the morning. The afternoon was spent in Bible study class, reading & resting. This will be our schedule for the beginning of our time here. Tonight we will be involved with our "GG" (Grubby to Grace and God's Gentlement) classes. We are separating the teens and Preteens during our Bible studies and GG classes.
In each report, I will include some "testimonies" from the team members. Today are count off numbers #1-5. I asked these team members what they have learned this past couple of crazy days or what has God shown them?
Rachel K. - things don't go as we plan instead they go as God plans. God is taking care of us.
Jake Q. - It was hard to say goodbye to team members. It has been good to become a new team, encourage one another & help each other through this.
Rio M. - This verse has really spoken to me during this time:
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
God has chosen us for a reason to fulfill His plan for us.
Aislynn M. - God has shown me to go with the flow and trust Him
Geli R. - I'm learning to be patient as God's plan unfolds for me during this time.
