Hello From the Lord's Boot Camp!
We are finishing week one and it is good to have the end in sight. All the kids can't believe that they are halfway done with Boot Camp and the idea of being in Ecuador in a week is exciting. These past couple of days have been really hot and humid. I am glad to say that we haven't had rain for the past couple of days and all the kids' laundry has dried, thank the Lord! The team has been bonding very well and has had much success in getting through the Obstacle Course and lifting each other over the Wall. Not only are they getting closer by overcoming physical obstacles, but also have joined together in prayer to overcome spiritual obstacles. The kids link arms and worship the Lord and are very attentive to the message or class set before them. Their good behavior was rewarded with a 500-gallon chocolate milkshake and massive pizzas. This past Sunday was a day of relaxation as the kids were able to swim in the pool and will later watch a movie tonight with popcorn. They are excited for the week to come and counting down to commissioning day.
Here are a few words from some team members,
"Boot Camp has been everything and more than I expected in more ways than one. Although sometimes trying, it is worth it when I get to spend time with my teammates and when I remember it is all for the Lord" Mary P.
"Boot Camp is actually pretty good. I'm starting to get used to the heat and my teammates are awesome. Miss you mom and dad." Ronan A
"The heat is bearable because of my great team. I love being here and getting to know my new family. I love you Mom and Dad. Noah L.
"Boot Camp has been tough but really really fun. I love the food, the exercise, the OC, the services are fantastic as well, and my faith has grown in just a week. I am thankful for my leaders, my team, and that God gave me this opportunity." Dade G
"Here at Boot Camp the people are great, the food is great, the OC is fun. The worst part is the Slough." Joshua C.
