We have finally arrived at the church in Costa Rica!!

We have finally arrived at the church in Costa Rica!!

We spent yesterday getting settled in and making a game plan for all of our schedules. The boys got their tents set up under a pavilion, and the girls will be sleeping on the floor of the church. The congregation has decided to do their services in a home while we are here so that we can make use of that space. That was a huge blessing, as this property is pretty small, though beautiful.

The neighbors have also been blessing us with many gifts of fruit from their trees. We have received lemons, papaya, and an unknown fruit that they told us to peel and eat with salt! The neighborhood kids have been watching our team through the gate and some of our Spanish speaking team members have been able to have good conversations with them!

Today is our first “real” day on the worksite and serving in KP. On the worksite, we have begun clearing a pad for the building by moving many rocks and other obstructions. We have also a started to dig post holes around the perimeter of where the classroom building will go. The team worked hard unloading 120 pound bags of cement and metal to get ready for this project! They are determined to finish before we leave! KP chopped up carrots, onions, and garlic for our beef stew and have been diligently sweeping and sanitizing our kitchen/hangout area. Yummy dessert is in store for tonight!

Surrounded by beautiful mountains and welcoming people, our team is coming together to work hard and serve wholeheartedly. It has been a joy seeing how they have come together since Day 1 of Boot Camp. We are looking forward to putting to use our evangelism training soon, as well!
